.mac webmail woes

Recently Apple have updated their webmail client. For many weeks they have been promising a sweet looking web based version of the popular mail.app. But why can you not make so I can use it! At work I run Windows2000, all updated up to the hilt. With a copy of FireFox2 as my portal to web. I point my address bar at www.mac.com, log in with my details and up pops my lovely pretty webmail portal....

Dark, almost black

It is a little bit later than planed but here is the new theme/style for shibbyonline. Code named Black it is the first theme I have created using a dark background, those of you who have followed my themes and designed will know that it is mainly light colours that float my boat. There are still little bugs to work out and I’m in the process of writing new archive and about pages but hopefully...

Did you reboot?

Today is the Autumn reboot. Sites from around the world will release there new look, hopefully completely standard compliant, with a view to gain interest and a better view of their sites. I’m gutted that this time around I have just not had the time to take part. I had every intention to have another go at the reboot but due to work load and changes in job I’ve been totally snowed under; well I’m...

Chumbawumba

We all know the age old theory; give enough monkies enough typewriters and eventually they will write the complete works of Shakespear. Well I guess it could be the same for current day, give enough users enough html editiors and eventually they will create a valid web page. Dan is proving the point over at Satansden, well done and keep it...

I got my own Buzz

I’ve been Woody’ed! Cast aside and relegated to the bottom of the toy box, left to collect dust and be ignored until one day I end up in an antiques fair. Let me explain the story. Dave (aka Goose) and Serena took a holiday in France during the summer and since then they have been looking into purchasing a property out there with plans of retiring from the modern life. Maybe just watch Russell...

Red Ring Of Death

Move over Blue Screen Of Death I now fear the Red Ring. I always thought a Red Ring Of Death was an over active take away condition. To my miss guided truth it turns out to be the reason I can not play Splinter Cell Double Agent. Friday was a bad enough day at work, so harsh that I decided to treat myself to a copy of the new Splinter Cell game; Double Agent on the way home. Because Lucy does not...

It's been a week

Seven whole days. 168 hours. 10080 little minutes since my last cigarette. Last Friday morning I decided to try kicking the habit (again). Inspired by Thomas over at The Undersigned, nothing to do with not being able to ride my bike without feeling my lungs jump out of my chest!, I went out and purchased the usual nicotine replacement products and set about trying to quit smoking. I did not post...

Another memory format?!?

After many phone calls and countless disagreements with T-Mobile I have finally upgraded my phone. More importantly O2 have upgraded my phone and until T-Mobile learn to take care of existing customers and offer them the same deals as the new customer I will not be going back! Anyway, I now have a K800i handset. Why? The phone boasts a 3.2mp camera. Nope that’s it, that’s the only reason I got...

What no Power?

Yesterday I came home from work to find the power was out. My first thoughts was that Lucy had forgotten a bill or something. Then it turned out all the houses in our little block were without power. We phoned the electricity board and were told that a explosion had occurred and they had to take the power down for Health and Safety reasons. Not a problem, except for the fact that no body was about...

display: run-in;

I’ve read the books, tried the examples and tested little known gems of CSS but then you read something that makes you sit there and realise that no matter what you do you have only scratched the surface. Molly Holzschlag teaches us about another one of those lesser used CSS rules; display: run-in; that really could be put to better use. But why is this not supported by Firefox? It would appear to...
