Clocking Up The Miles

This week end is the Suffolk Kite Flyers annual festival, also known as the Suffolk Kite Festival. Having been a member (long story I guess) I felt the need to offer my hand at setting up the show ground ready for the displays. But having the time off work and looking after Pickle I’ve not really had much time in the saddle so I decided to make the trip on the bike rather than a stuffy car. It was...

Monday mornings

Well it was good to know that this morning that dreaded feeling of ‘what have I forgotten to do for work on Monday’ were short lived. For once I’ve some time off work and all I have left to think about is what shall I do to fill the time? Well the real reason for the time off is Pickle, well that and the fact that they kicked me out of the office as I’ve not taken any time off. As Pickle has come...

Sunday Motocross

Today we had a bit of a family outing, to the local motorcross course to watch some action. Sean, Sarah, Lyn, Ken, Lucy and I made the short journey to ‘Lovenly Hall’ for a event in the motorcross calendar. As you can tell I do not really follow the sport’s events, but I can’t get enough of the...

We get a Pickle

Well today was finally the day we get to pick up Pickle the Senegal Parrot. So off we set in the car to the sunny depths of Norfolk to meet Muriel and Keith again. They had organised for a pet carrier to be waiting for us and after a quick fairwell chat we were back on our way home with the bird. I’m not sure if it was my driving or just the experience but half way home Pickle decided that she...

I finally bag myself a Tiger

Yesterday I finally recieved my copy of Tiger, yep thats right nearly a week after the release date despite the Apple promise of ‘order from us and we will pre-deliver it so you can enjoy on the day’. Well in Apples defense it was more a TNT problem, least the local TNT driver and I agreed that TNT are by far the best of the worse! Anyway back to the blog, recieved a nice box full of one copy of...

Bank Holiday weekends

After my visit to to the D&D house on Friday (see below) Lucy and I kind of got invited to a BBQ with Carol and John with Dan and Dell. It started out a bit on the strange side trying to get Augie down to the pub and onto the house without the use of a cab but the ever adventure seaking Dan and I opted to walk and what a good decision. Weather was top notch and worth effort. After a few jars...

Painkillers

One of three Friday nights for me are a bit of a non-event, Lucy is at work, and so I have no real intention of doing anything, usually this is used to perform the regular maintenance on this site and the DAO one. This Friday was a bit different, I got a call from Dan who wanted to try an installation of Linux, so with my Mandrake discs in hand I popped round to see what I could do. Well, one...

Pain in the...

Back! I wish I knew what I have done but at present I’m crippled, OK not that bad but a serious amount of pain and not thoroughly enjoying it too much. It all started the other morning I think, lifting a PC into the boot of the car, I must have turned and done something weird with it as it just felt ‘off’ since then. But on the way home on the bike last night I went to put the power down out of a...

The 7th is Pickle day

Received one of my weekly email updates from Muriel Barnes last night, and she has passed on the comments of: Just a quick line to let you know that your baby is getting along fine.? The attached pic was taken this morning after breakfast, although Pickle doesn’t actually have any now, she is offered supper only as is getting quite good at eating on her own now……….so she should be O.K. for...

Just missed the slime!

I’ve been trying to put some miles under my belt the last few weeks, yet every-time I get going I end up with a flat tyre. I have been running some slicks currently so that might have some to do with it, but then I was only running on tarmac. I looked into the idea of some ‘Slime’ or some other forms of puncture prevention but after reading some stories of how messing the gunk in the tyre thing...
