I've got a wet ass!

Mental note, when you next wash your bike make sure you leave enough time for the saddle to dry. Because sitting at work with a wet ass is not the most pleasant...

No more birthdays

I’ve just realised if it was not for birthdays this place would be very quiet. The last few posts have all been about birthdays, but this years is full of important dates; my dad’s 60th, my 30th, a few 25’s a handful of 21’s and a 10th! Hopefully I’ll rack my brains and try and come up with something interesting to write in-between the birthday...

Happy 60th

There is not much that you could say about Mr. K J Chamberlin, go on you can google him and despite the fact that the Applegate directory have him listed as a business there is not much to find. Yet he has been the most important male figure in my life and I get to call him dad. Today marks his 60th birthday and by all accounts it does appear to be a rather large milestone in the scheme of...

SRAM Force Recall

Rob called me this morning to let me know that he got wind of a recall notice on all SRAM Force brakesets. Apparently the titanium used in the mounting bolts is not right which can lead to failure of the unit, I checked the SRAM website and yes everything is going back. Just take a wild guess as to what brakes I’m fitting on my stealth project (more details on this later) you got it; Force! Oh...

30 years of madness

This week end marked a significant page in the diary. Saturday was Lucy’s brother; Ant, his 30th birthday. Of course this meant there would be some celebrating in only a way that Ant knows, too much beer but no one really expected an X-Rated lap dance with a cement mixer. To kick the party off with a touch of class it was formal wear only, Ant of course went one step further and donned a white...

Finally Winter

There have been warnings of severe weather and snow over the last 24 hours, I’m surprised there was not a mass panic with people buying up all the last Lima beans at Tesco’s; just in case. This morning I woke expecting to see a slight dusting on the ground but not much else, I was not disapointed. So in the spirit of things I decided to cycle into work, this was the best decision ever, look at the...

In print again

It was brought to my attention that I was in the local papers again yesterday. The Suffolk Free Press is a local paper that sums up all news and events locally; quite a good read actually. At the week end CCS held their anual prize giving dinner to which Rob, Dave and I were awarded the rider of the year trophy for our End2End ride. Also attending the dinner was sports reported for the Suffolk...

Got that Friday feeling

Ok it’s Friday, in fact it’s Friday evening and I really have that great feeling inside. Of course you always get that feeling when you leave work ready for the week end but there is an extra reason for my _buzzy’ness_… Right now Lucy should be boarding a plane in Raleigh on her way back home. It has been a slow last two weeks but I am really looking forward to seeing Lucy again, gonna be a great...

Core Bike Show 2007

It is that time of year again, the time when some of the main distributers get together and try to sell there wares to the local dealers. Last year the event was in it’s infancy and as such not a vast number of exhibitors or visitors. This year it has really stepped up a gear. From the change in location; Whittlebury Hall is by far a better choice to the outskirts of Birmingham! But also the...

Colour Shuffle's

Today Apple announced the release of coloured iPod Shuffle’s. The Shuffle is in my mind an astounding piece of design, now available in a selection of colours will only make it a better seller. I just love that Orange...
